Driveway Cleaning in Kent

Lift years of moss, algae and traffic grime off block paving, concrete and stone.

A driveway is the largest single surface most people see when they arrive at your property, and it is the first to show its age. Rainwater, shade and Kent's mild damp winters leave block paving green, concrete streaked and stone dull long before the surface itself has worn out.

We clean driveways with rotary surface cleaners and professional petrol pressure washers, which lift dirt evenly rather than leaving the striped, zebra-crossing finish a lance alone produces. Where paving needs it, we finish with fresh kiln-dried sand.

What the job includes

  • Sweep and clear the area, moving loose items where practical
  • Pre-treat heavy moss and algae growth where the surface calls for it
  • Rotary surface clean for an even, mark-free finish
  • Detail lance work to edges, kerbs, channels and steps
  • Rinse down and remove displaced silt and debris from the site
  • Kiln-dried sand replaced on block paving (on request)

Driveway surfaces we work with

  • Block paving and clay pavers
  • Concrete and imprinted concrete (assessed first)
  • Natural stone setts and cobbles
  • Paving slabs and flags
  • Shingle-edged and mixed-surface drives

Why it is done this way

What you get with our driveway cleaning

  • An even finish, not a striped one

Rotary cleaning heads keep pressure and distance consistent across the whole slab or block, which is what stops the tramline effect.

  • Pressure matched to the surface

Aged concrete, soft stone and imprinted surfaces all behave differently. We test an area first and adjust rather than blasting everything at maximum.

  • Re-sanding available

Washing block paving removes jointing sand along with the dirt. Replacing it helps the blocks lock together again and slows regrowth in the joints.

  • Tidied on completion

Silt and washed-out debris are cleared from paths, drains and borders before we leave.

Our process

How the visit runs

  1. Step 1

    Assess the surface

We check the material, condition and jointing before choosing pressure and method.

  2. Step 2

    Prepare the area

Sweep, move what we safely can and protect nearby planting and openings.

  3. Step 3

    Clean

Rotary surface clean, then detail the edges and awkward corners by lance.

  4. Step 4

    Rinse and re-sand

Wash the run-off away, then apply kiln-dried sand to block paving where required.

  • I can’t believe the change to the patio and paths surrounding the house! It has been transformed from a dull and depressing monotone with all kinds of dirt and growths in a matter of hours. Rez was a pleasure to have around, very polite and professional.

Questions

Driveway Cleaning FAQs

How long does a driveway clean take?

Most domestic driveways take between two and five hours. Size, the amount of moss and whether re-sanding is needed are the main factors.

Will pressure washing damage my block paving?

Sound block paving handles professional cleaning well. Damage usually comes from too much pressure held too close, so we test an area and work at a controlled distance. Where blocks are already spalling or the base has failed, we will tell you before starting.

Do you re-sand block paving afterwards?

Yes. Cleaning washes out the old jointing sand, so we can brush in fresh kiln-dried sand once the surface has dried enough to take it.

Can you remove oil stains?

We can usually reduce them considerably with a degreasing treatment, but we do not promise complete removal. Oil that has soaked deep into porous concrete or unsealed block often leaves a shadow.

Do you need to use my water and electricity?

We normally use an outside tap. Tell us if you do not have one and we will discuss options when we quote.
