Exterior cleaning is not strictly seasonal — we work through the year in Kent — but timing does affect both the result and how long you wait for a slot.
Spring (March to May)
The busiest period, and the most popular for good reason: winter growth is at its peak, the weather is workable, and you get the whole summer out of the result. Driveways, patios and house washes all book up fastest here, so get in early if you want a specific date before a summer event.
Summer (June to August)
Ideal for anything needing dry-down time — sealing block paving or imprinted concrete, and any painted or rendered surface. Hot, dry days can shorten biocide dwell time, so we work earlier and later in the day during a heatwave and pre-wet surfaces.
Autumn (September to November)
The most valuable maintenance window of the year. Gutters cleared once the leaves are down, roofs softwashed and valleys cleared before the wet months, and driveways treated so they go into winter without an established moss layer. Autumn work is preventative, and it saves the most money.
Winter (December to February)
Quieter, more flexible, and often the easiest time to book. Softwashing works fine in cold weather provided it is not freezing, and roof and render treatments continue. Hard-surface pressure cleaning is best avoided in a hard frost, and we work around the forecast rather than fighting it.
Booking around events
If you have a wedding, a party, a house going on the market or a property inspection coming up, book three to four weeks ahead. Roof softwashing in particular improves for several weeks after the visit as the dead growth clears, so early is better than late.
