Solar Panel Cleaning in Kent
Pure water pole cleaning that clears film, bird mess and edge algae from panel glass.
Solar panels are self-cleaning only in theory. In practice, dust, pollen, bird mess and a rim of algae along the frame edges build up on shallow-pitched arrays, and shading even part of a panel affects the output of the string it sits in.
We clean panel glass with pure water and pole-fed brushes — no detergents, no abrasives and no walking on the array.
What the job includes
- Pure water pole-fed cleaning of panel glass
- Removal of bird mess, pollen film and edge algae
- Frame edges cleaned where growth has taken hold
- Ground level working wherever access allows
- Visual report of anything obviously loose or damaged
- Roof and gutter work combined on request
Where we work
- Domestic roof-mounted arrays
- Ground-mounted arrays
- Garage, outbuilding and extension installations
- Small commercial rooftop arrays (subject to access)
Why it is done this way
What you get with our solar panel cleaning
No detergents on the glass
Pure water leaves no residue and nothing for dirt to bond to as it dries.
Nothing stood on
Pole systems mean we do not need to walk on the array or lean ladders against it.
Edges included
The algae line along frame edges is what creeps into the active area, so it is worth clearing.
Combine with roof and gutters
If we are already on site for the roof, adding the panels costs less than a separate visit.
Our process
How the visit runs
- Step 1
Check access
Confirm pitch, height and whether the array can be reached safely from the ground.
- Step 2
Clean
Pure water pole-fed brushing across the glass and frame edges.
- Step 3
Rinse
Final pure water rinse so the glass dries without spotting.
- Step 4
Report
Tell you about anything visibly loose, cracked or soiled beyond cleaning.

“I can’t believe the change to the patio and paths surrounding the house! It has been transformed from a dull and depressing monotone with all kinds of dirt and growths in a matter of hours. Rez was a pleasure to have around, very polite and professional.”

Questions
Solar Panel Cleaning FAQs
Will cleaning improve my solar output?
Removing shading dirt and bird mess restores the panel's ability to collect light. How much difference it makes depends on how soiled the array was, so we do not quote a fixed percentage.
Do you use chemicals on panels?
No. We use pure water, which is the method manufacturers generally recommend.
How often should panels be cleaned?
Once a year suits most installations. Arrays under trees, near farmland or on a shallow pitch may benefit from more frequent attention.
