- Full roof, two elevations, simple and straightforward: from around £700.
- Larger, steeper or awkward-access roofs: quoted after the survey, above that figure.
- Gutter clearing after the roof work: included as part of the job, not a separate charge.
What moves a roof cleaning price
Once the roof has been looked at, the quote is really a reflection of five things.
- Access: whether a powered platform can be positioned safely, or scaffolding is the only option.
- Pitch and height: steeper and taller roofs take longer and need more equipment.
- Covering: clay peg tiles, concrete interlocking tiles and slate each need a different method.
- How much moss there is: a thick, established mat takes far longer to remove than surface algae.
- Whether the render, gutters or conservatory are being done in the same visit.
Why we will not quote a roof over the phone
Roof work is the one job where a phone price helps nobody. Until the covering and the access have been seen, any figure is a guess, and the guesses are what lead to a crew turning up, deciding it is harder than expected and asking for more money on the day.
