Block Paving Cleaning & Re-Sanding in Kent
Cleaned evenly, joints refilled with fresh kiln-dried sand.
Block paving is the most common driveway surface in Kent and the one that shows neglect fastest. Once the jointing sand washes low, weeds and moss colonise the gaps, blocks start to shift and the whole drive looks tired.
Cleaning is only half of the job. Replacing the kiln-dried sand afterwards is what restores interlock between the blocks and slows regrowth.
What the job includes
- Weed and moss removal from joints
- Rotary surface clean across the full area
- Detail lance work to edges, kerbs and channels
- Silt and debris removed from site
- Kiln-dried sand brushed and vibrated into the joints
- Advice on anything that looks like a base or edge restraint issue
Paving types we work with
- Concrete block paving
- Clay pavers
- Permeable block paving (sanded appropriately)
- Setts, cobbles and edging courses
- Block paved paths, patios and parking areas
Why it is done this way
What you get with our block paving cleaning & re-sanding
Interlock restored
Filled joints are what make block paving behave as a surface rather than as loose blocks.
Slower regrowth
A properly filled joint gives weeds and moss much less to root into.
Even, mark-free finish
Rotary cleaning avoids the striping you get from working with a lance alone.
Honest assessment
If blocks are sinking or the edge restraint has failed, we will say so — cleaning will not fix it.
Our process
How the visit runs
- Step 1
Clear the joints
Remove weeds, moss and the worst of the surface growth.
- Step 2
Clean
Rotary surface clean, then detail the perimeter and awkward areas.
- Step 3
Dry and sweep
Allow the surface to dry enough to accept sand, then sweep clean.
- Step 4
Re-sand
Brush kiln-dried sand into every joint and settle it in.

“I can’t believe the change to the patio and paths surrounding the house! It has been transformed from a dull and depressing monotone with all kinds of dirt and growths in a matter of hours. Rez was a pleasure to have around, very polite and professional.”

Questions
Block Paving Cleaning & Re-Sanding FAQs
Should block paving be re-sanded after pressure washing?
Yes. Cleaning inevitably removes jointing sand along with the dirt, and leaving the joints empty allows blocks to move and weeds to return quickly.
Can you clean block paving?
Yes — it is one of the surfaces we clean most often, using rotary heads for an even finish and lance work for the edges.
What sand do you use?
Kiln-dried jointing sand, brushed and settled into the joints once the surface is dry enough to take it.
Do you seal block paving?
Ask us when you enquire. Sealing is a separate decision that depends on the paving, its age and what you want from the finish.
